Red Dwarf is an enormous space ship mining around the moons of Saturn with a crew of 169. By the end of the first episode, 168 of them are dead. The stories then take place millions of years in the future focusing on the hillarious attempts of the one remaining, totally inept human (Lister) to yet again find Earth.

All he has on board to help him is a motherly andriod (Kryten), a holographic simulation of Lister's former bunkmate (Rimmer), a vain ship's cat and the ship's computer (Holly). The result is an on-going series of hilarious dimension-hopping misadventures.
