Harris Mann’s attractive ‘ADO 71’ range of cars was originally launched in March 1975 as the Austin, Morris and Wolseley 18-22 Series. Such was the indecision and confusion within the BL marketing department, that by September of that year it had been re-launched as ‘Princess from Leyland Cars’; losing any sort of brand identity in marketing terms! Attractive, well equipped, comfortable and adventurous in its engineering and features, the Princess soon acquired a reputation for poor production quality which it never quite shook off.
