Corgi Classics - Drive Time / Vanguards |
The Rover 3500 could so nearly have taken the world by storm. The David Bache designed, Ferrari Daytona inspired shape was impressive, and the interior had showroom appeal. It was the first car designed by the new Specialist Division of BL (hence the name SD1). The only carry over part was the magnificent Rover V8 engine and with a hi-tech new assembly plant at Solihull, a jubilant reception from the press, ultra competitive pricing and a win in the Car of Year competition of 1977, the future looked bright. Then the first worries about build quality started to come in from the dealers. View other product and find out more about Corgi Classics and Drive Time / Vanguards.
