Corgi Classics - Drive Time / Vanguards |
Launched in 1973 the Triumph Dolomite Sprint was the first volume production car in the world to be made with a 4 valves per cylinder (i.e. a 16 valve) engine. The 127 BHP 2 litre unit was based on the Dolomite 1850 block and was expensive to produce. However, it made this elegant but sedate looking four door saloon into a real performance car that excelled in Group One racing or rallying, and kept Ford’s Escort RS2000 on its toes throughout the seventies.
