The Lotus Cortina Mk11 had quite a short career as a rally car, for in historical terms it was sandwiched between the successful Mk1 Lotus Cortina and the now legendary Mk1 Escort. The Ford team knew the Escort was coming through for much of the 1967 season and therefore did not develop the Mk11 as much as they might have done. The example modelled here was used by Ford works driver Ove Andersson to win the ‘Gulf London’, UK based ‘forestry marathon’ Rally.
