1848 was when the first ten miles of the Galena and Chicago Union Railroad are complete. This line was a direct predecessor of the Chicago and North Western line. The company has lived on and is still in operation today. This Diamond T and other smaller trucks may have been used for carrying supplies to and from maintenance stations.
