Corgi Classics - Original Omnibus Company |
It’s a family name which heralds a family business that is a driving force in Lanarkshire and Glasgow. The McKindless Bus Group was started in Wishaw in 1987 by Vincent and Margaret McKindless carrying out some private hire and school contract work. Eighteen years on, and their recognisable green and cream buses can be seen all over Lanarkshire and Glasgow. The blue and red ‘British Airways’ styled colours of their Glasgow Shuttle Express service is a familiar sight on the M74 and M8 motorways as they carry commuters, students, shoppers and day trippers to the City. As the largest independent operator in Scotlands central belt, the Company employs almost 200 people, a large majority of whom have been trained for PCV driving by the Group. Although the Company is now a very large operator with in excess of 150 vehicles, there is still the personal service which is associated with a family business.
