Corgi Classics - Original Omnibus Company |
RTW 178, Registration KLB 908, was delivered new to London Transport in December 1949 and ran on service 112 (Palmers Green). It was acquired by Stevensons of Spath (Uttoxeter) in 1965 through the dealer Bird’s of Stratford-upon-Avon and in 1966 was fitted with platform doors (not represented on the model). RTW 178 remained in service with Stevensons, but identified by the fleet number 11 until 1976 when it was sold to Bloor for scrap. However, the bus was rescued and bought for preservation in 1978 and can now be seen at rallies around the country.
