Calder Valley Search & Rescue team is one of the many voluntary Mountain Rescue teams operating in the UK. The team provides search & rescue response across the South Pennine Hills. Formed in 1966 the team consists of volunteers who are trained in Mountain First Aid, rope rescue techniques, navigation and mountain survival. Mountain Rescue teams are financed solely by charitable donations – their services are always free. Like many Rescue teams, the Land Rover is the team’s vehicle of choice for rescue operations.
