In 1863 Mr. Sigismund Pollitzer and Mr. John Beck established a general carrier and warehousing partnership at Upper Thames Street in London. Beck & Pollitzer is now one of Europe’s leading services contractors specialising in the installation and relocation of industrial plant and machinery, with 15 operating locations throughout the UK and Europe. Beck & Pollitzer’s heavy and specialised haulage fleet provides customers with every type of transport solution. Our experienced transport managers operate in excess of 50 tractor units with low loaders, semi low loaders and extendable flats ranging in carrying capacities from 65 to 150 tonne. In 2005 the Mayor of London awarded Beck & Pollitzer the contract to transport the Christmas tree from the port of Immingham to Trafalgar Square and to carry out the off loading and erection. The tree is given by Oslo, the Norwegian Capital, as a token of gratitude for Britain’s support of Norway during World War II and as a sign of friendship between the two countries.
