The firm of R.W. Stewart was established in 1920 after the late R.W. Stewart returned from the army after the end of the 1914-1918 war. The firm started to do livestock and general haulage for local farmers and firms. At that time mainly Leyland lorries fitted with livestock containers (which R.W. Stewart built himself) were used. In 1980 the firm changed to Scania vehicles and Houghton livestock containers which are fitted with water and feeding systems for long journeys as animal welfare is of the utmost importance. Nowadays the firm uses 100% Scania and Houghton as in their opinion, they are the best. View other product and find out more about Corgi Classics.
