As successor to the 3-litre Rover, the Rover P6 2000 was a new generation car with a 2-litre overhead-cam engine, de Dion rear suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes. Following several unsuccessful outings on the rally circuits, Roger Clark stunned the world in January 1965 by winning the entire group 1 category of the Monte Carlo Rally and finishing 6th overall.
