This small 948cc front-engined saloon was as fast, if not nimble, as the Morris Minor 1000. In order to satisfy internal politics this led to the A35 being used in pre 1960s rallys, although expectations of success ran low. These expectation were most famously exceeded by Graham Hill who drove 69 PMT to great success far and wide across Europe in addition to its continuing everyday use.
