In 1759 Arthur Guinness took a 9000 year lease on a disused brewery at St. James's Gate in Dublin. By the turn of the century he had come to specialise in a superior version of the black beer then known as porter - Guinness Extra Stout. Guinness was first exported in 1769 and in 1886 became the first brewery to be floated on the London Stock Exhange. Early transport began with barges and horse and cart before steam took over in the 1900s. View other product and find out more about Corgi Classics.
