G-AYOP began its service life with BEA on 16th May 1958. It later served with Cambrian Airways and British Airways before being sold to British Air Ferries on 21st April 1981. The aircraft has since been re-registered as G-PBFT on 22nd March 1994 and leased to Heli-Jet Aviation Ltd on 23rd May 1997.
