This aircraft was built at Belfast and first flew on 24th August 1960. XM-636 was given the name 'Regulus' as was the case with all Royal Air Force Transport aircraft. Sterling service was given by all RAF Britannias and these aircraft were operated not only as passenger/trooping/freight aircraft but also as 'Air Ambulance' in the Aeromedical role.
