The MATS (Military Air Transport Service) Connie 48-609, entered service with the USAF in 1948 and flew in direct support of the Berlin Airlift. Following retirement from military service in 19688, 48-608 was used as a spray plane over Canadian forests until 1984. The aircraft was acquired by The Constellation Group in 1987 and returned to the air in June 1992.
