Corgi Classics - Aviation Archive |
Limited Edition. On 25th January 1959, American Airlines scheduled services with its new 707s on its longer sectors such as Noew York-Los Angeles. At its peak, the carrier's fleet of 707/720s was one of the largest in the world, many remaining in service well into the 1980s. While many airlines utilised a white roof in their aircraft livery, one of the trademarks of AA livery was a highly-polished overall aluminium finish. In 1968 a few turbo-engined Boeing 707-323Cs were purchased, including N8410, which were operated from the airline's base at Dallas, Texas on routes throughout North Amercia until withdrawn from use in August 1981.
