British Midland G-BFZL, which was a Series 816 originally ordered for Trans Australia Airlines, but converted to a Series 836 to serve with serveral companies and airlines including Sultan of Oman's Air Force before British Midland Airways bought it in March 1979. It was sold to British Aerospace in May 1986, who leased it out to several airlines including its final operator, British World Airlines. This is one of the last airworthy Viscounts in the world, but currently is grounded in South Africa following its sale in April 1997.
