Corgi Classics - Aviation Archive |
For the year 2000 The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight are changing the livery of their Lancaster Bomber PA474. From this year (2000) the plane is to carry the markings of QR-M or 'Mickey the Moocher' as it is fondly known. Aircraft lettered 'M' were usually known as 'Mike' or 'Mother' but in this instance one of the crew called it 'Mickey' and it was decorated with Mickey Mouse on the nose, becoming known as 'Mickey the Moocher'. Bomb symbols appear in rows of 10 above Mickey and depict the number of ops that the plane flew on. It is though that it eventually carried 115 such symbols although it is actually accredited with 128 ops. View other product and find out more about Corgi Classics and Aircraft.
