Corgi Classics - Aviation Archive |
The Comet 4 began service with BOAC in October 1958, operating between London and New York and beating Pan Am's introduction of the Boeing 707 on the North Atlantic route by 22 days. G-APDD was the fourth aircraft in the fleet and remained in service with the airline until April 1965. Eventually bought by Dan Air in October 1969, and after a final spell overseas with the East African Airways Corporation, it was finally withdrawn from service in August 1972 and broken up. Its total airframe time was 35,279 hours. View other product and find out more about Corgi Classics and Aircraft.
