Comet 4B, G-APMC, was delivered new to BEA on 16th November 1959. It served faithfully on European routes until February 1971, when G-APMC was one of nine Comet 4Bs transferred to BEA Airtours, until being sold in October 1973. The airline flew holidaymakers from Gatwick to destinations mainly in Spain, Italy and Cyprus. G-APMC was sold to Dan-Air, who withdrew it from service in September 1974 and it was broken-up at Lasham. When British Airways was formed on 1st April 1974, BEA Airtours became British Airtours.
