Built in 1956, G-APMA was used for BEA's inaugural Comet service on the Heathrow - Oslo - Stockholm route on 1st July 1960. On the 27th July 1960, the plane performed the Northolt - Le Bourget stage of the Daily Mail's London - Paris city centre race in 27 minutes.
