This model represents the Spitfire Mk.IIA flown by World War Two ace Flt Lt Adolphe Vybiral. The markings are of No.312 (Czechoslovak) Squadron, RAF, which formed at Duxford with Hurricanes on 29 August 1940 with Czechoslovak personnel as a fighter unit. The squadron moved to various bases and re-eqiupped with Spitfire Mk.IIA in October 1941, which it flew for three months, before converting on to later makr Spitfires.
